Help! I Have To Share My Data: Preparation For Sharing and Choosing a Repository For Long-Term Data Storage

Help! I Have To Share My Data: Preparation For Sharing and Choosing a Repository For Long-Term Data Storage Online

Requirements for data sharing are increasing, but what does it actually entail? This session will cover considerations and potential requirements for data sharing, including new guidance from NIH and OSTP, and ethical considerations. We will also discuss what is needed for successful data sharing. Finally, we will introduce criteria for defining your data needs and evaluating repositories for sharing and preservation, and provide a short demonstration of the University of Michigan’s own data repository, Deep Blue Data. There will also be time for discussion/Q&A.

This workshop will be most useful for researchers in the health sciences and STEM disciplines who want to know more about sharing research data, or who will be sharing research data to fulfill funder or journal requirements.
